The Design Brief – Guidelines for the Architect

Assignment

Read the design brief carefully. Before drawing anything, write in your journal: (1) where will you put the tee? (2) how will you use the pond — greenside hazard, fairway hazard, or decorative? (3) what will you do with the trees — obstacles, framing, or removed? (4) where will the green sit? Write your answers as decisions, not questions. A designer commits to choices.
