More Than a Golf Lesson

As a homeschool parent, you are always looking for meaningful ways to bring learning to life β€” and golf might just be the most surprisingly powerful classroom you’ve never considered. The Homeschool Golf Academy was built on a simple but profound idea: that learning the game of golf creates natural, real-world opportunities to teach and reinforce the core subjects your child is already studying. Every round, every lesson, and every practice session becomes a chance to explore:

  • Math & Statistics β€” Tracking scores, calculating handicaps, and analyzing performance data teaches your child to work with real numbers in a context that is immediately meaningful and motivating.
  • Physics & Aerodynamics β€” Understanding why the ball curves, climbs, and drops puts the laws of motion, force, and energy into action, giving your child a tangible connection to concepts that can otherwise feel abstract in a textbook.
  • Environmental Science β€” Exploring how a golf course is designed, maintained, and sustained introduces your child to ecology, turf management, and land stewardship in a living, breathing outdoor classroom.
  • Rules, Etiquette & Golf History β€” Learning how the game is played, where it came from, and how to conduct themselves on the course builds character, cultural awareness, and the interpersonal skills that last a lifetime.
  • Golf Fitness & Healthy Development β€” Getting “golf fit” means building real strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance through purposeful movement. The physical training woven into our curriculum helps your child develop lifelong healthy habits, body awareness, and an active lifestyle β€” all while directly improving their game.
  • Mental Performance & Golf Psychology β€” Golf is as much a mental game as a physical one. Our curriculum teaches your child how to focus, manage emotions, set goals, and bounce back from adversity β€” skills that build resilience and confidence both on the course and in every area of life.

Golf is a lifetime sport β€” and at the Homeschool Golf Academy, it is also a lifetime education. Our comprehensive curriculum gives your child the rare opportunity to grow as both an athlete and a student, building skills on the course that carry far beyond it.

Director of Coaching

Mike is a Certified PGA Professional who has spent nearly 30 years dedicated to developing junior golfers at every level. He has had the privilege of working with elite programs including The ANNIKA Academy and the US Junior National Team.

Mike also has extensive experience managing various junior golf instructional platforms – the basis for his development of the Homeschool Golf Academy.Β  He has a first-hand understanding of what it takes to grow golfers from beginners to highly competitive players.

Mike’s career has been defined by a single belief: that great instruction meets the student exactly where they are. Whether working with a 5-year-old picking up a club for the first time or a high school junior preparing for collegiate competition, Mike brings the same structured, encouraging, and results-driven approach to every student he teaches.

That philosophy β€” refined across three decades of hands-on instruction β€” is the experience behind every course, curriculum, and lesson at the Homeschool Golf Academy.
