Active Start | Golf Safari Adventure (W1:L1)

Objective: Introduce swinging and aiming through imaginative play
Location: Open grassy area or indoor gym
Lesson Length: 20 – 30 minutes
Warm Up: (5 minutes): “Jungle Run”
- Kids pretend to be animals (e.g., hop like kangaroos, crawl like tigers) around cones set in a circle
- Call out actions: “Leap over the river!” (jump over a tape line) or “Swing your trunk!” (arm swings)
- Purpose: Build coordination and warm up muscles
Main Activities (17 minutes):
- “Hit to the Watering Hole” (8 minutes)
- Setup: Place hula hoops (“watering holes”) 5-10 feet away
- Activity: Kids use plastic clubs to hit foam balls into hoops, pretending to feed animals

- “Safari Roll” (9 minutes)
- Setup: Mark a start line and a target line 10 feet away with tape.
- Activity: Kids roll balls by hand or with a club to stop on the target line, pretending to roll food to the animals.
